A fellow professional EOS Implementer and friend, Alex Freytag, has written a book, Achieve Your Vision, which all all entrepreneurs will benefit from reading. You can purchase it here on Amazon in any one of three formats: soft cover, ebook (kindle) or audio.
Alex founded his company ProfitWorks for the purpose of helping entrepreneurs with the challenge of finding a way for their employees to see the business from an owner’s point of view. In this pursuit, Alex used many of the concepts and tools he learned from Jack Stack in The Great Game of Business (see my blog on that book here) and from Brad Hamm in his book Ownership Thinking (see my blog on that book here).
On top of that foundation, Alex describes how he now uses the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to help owners maximize employee engagement. Owners and leaders should focus on strengthening the six key components found in every business,- Vision, People, Data, Issues, Process and Traction, by using the two tools or disciplines provided by EOS. Alex’s book provides a summary of these tools and disciplines. For more detail, you can read Gino Wickman’s Traction: Get A Grip On Your Business.
Alex summarizes the best employee engagement as 1) making sure all your employees know where your company is going and how it is going to get there, 2) making sure that your employees know how they contribute to the success of your company – what they are responsible for and how they are measured, so that you gain traction every day and 3) ensuring that they are acting for the greater good – being open to new ideas and honest about issues they observe.
If you think your company can be doing better in any of these areas, then Alex’s book is an easy first step and the other three books are primers in their respective arenas, all of which will serve you well.
